Letter From Steve, Our CEO
An Exodus-Shaped Year
It’s a privilege to lead a team that’s helping people explore the Bible.
Around here, we often say, “We’re working on something that’s working
on us,” and I was especially struck by that this year. We were reading
the Bible and meditating on its wisdom alongside you, every step of the
way. For me, it’s exciting that we’re unified as students of Scripture, as
people who want to understand the beauty of the Bible and let it go to
work on us.
This year, we explored the Bible through the lens of the Exodus
narrative. What many of us once saw as a story about the escape from
Egypt soon became a fresh way to read the whole Bible. As we learned
together, our view expanded from an Exodus-shaped reading of the
Bible to an Exodus-shaped way of life.
I heard this shift in the language of our team and in stories from you
and your communities. We learned that we still live in the wilderness
and that our world is still far from complete. Studying Exodus reminded
us that the path through the wilderness wasn’t the shortest route to
the promised land—it was the longer way. And along the way,
God formed his people and provided exactly what they needed.
We’ve experienced that same thing over the past year.
